Justin Kickett is a multimedia entrepreneur, audio engineer, and community-focused innovator based in St. Louis, Missouri. As the Founder of MyCityMyMusic and the visionary behind OverTime Studio, Justin has built one of the region’s most recognizable independent multimedia platforms—dedicated to amplifying local and worldwide voices in music, culture, politics, and community conversation.
Raised in a hardworking middle-class family with two sisters, Justin developed independence early in life. While his parents prioritized education and discipline, Justin’s path was shaped by resilience, creativity, and self-discovery. Academically gifted—evidenced by a high ACT score and a four-year college scholarship—he often found himself more connected to the arts than traditional academics. Though he faced early setbacks in college and life, those challenges would ultimately fuel his entrepreneurial drive.
Justin’s music journey began in 2007 when he built his first recording studio in a bedroom with a single microphone and computer. Mentored early on by producer Ant Streets, he immersed himself in writing, recording, and artist development. What started as a personal hobby turned to passion then quickly evolved into a mission: create a platform where independent artists could be heard and respected not only locally, but worldwide.
In May 2014, Justin launched MyCityMyMusic Internet Radio through MyCityMyMusic.com. Beginning with one radio show, the platform rapidly expanded. Within two years, the network grew to seven days a week of programming, showcasing music, interviews, commentary, and live broadcasts. Today, MyCityMyMusic operates as a multimedia hub encompassing radio, podcasting, video production, and event coverage—making OverTime Studio a cornerstone for creators throughout the region.
Personal adversity strengthened Justin’s leadership. After the bankruptcy of a long-term employer and the passing of his father, he faced life at a crossroads. At the same time, becoming a father reshaped his purpose. The birth of his daughter in 2010 marked a turning point, inspiring a deeper commitment to legacy, discipline, and ownership. Fatherhood transformed his outlook from personal ambition to generational impact.
Under Justin’s leadership, MyCityMyMusic has become more than a platform—it is a movement dedicated to independence, opportunity, and community empowerment. His work blends entrepreneurship with storytelling, creating space for artists, business owners, activists, and thought leaders to connect with broader audiences.
Driven by persistence and sharpened by experience, Justin Kickett continues to evolve as a media architect—building systems, franchises, and platforms that empower others to share their voice. His vision remains clear: work overtime, create opportunity, and leave a lasting impact on his city and beyond.
